Mia Fu
Collegiate
Major: Mechanical Engineering
Outside of FLEG: Siemen’s Summer Project Management Intern, Research Assistant at UF’s Advanced Structures Lab, SASE Interns Program, SASE SET Mechanical Team Member, UF FUELED
Favorite FLEG Memory: My favorite FLEG memory was probably one of the smores events that FLEGacy held. It was a great experience getting to connect with other FLEG. It was also one of my favorite events because my mentor and twin were also at the event and we roasted a lot of marshmallows.
Yuwei Huang
Collegiate
Major: Computer Science
Outside of FLEG: Gator User Design, Computing Student Union, Study Abroad in Singapore, Silverseas Media Intern
Favorite FLEG Memory: My favorite FLEG memories are from hanging out with the collegiate committee and getting to see my committee members. During committee meetings, I always had a great
time brainstorming and having fun with side tangents. I wasn’t really
work because the people made the meetings fun! I also enjoyed all the socials and outings we scheduled, notably the late night waffle house trips!
Kumar Chakraborty
Technical Affairs
Major: Computer Engineering
Outside of FLEG: Swamp Launch Propulsion, Gator Cricket
Favorite FLEG Memory: One of my favorite FLEG memories was being part of the planning and hosting the very first TA event which essentially set the tone of how we were going to conduct our future events and iron out the framework. It wasn’t perfect and that was part of the whole experience being in a committee with no precedent. Apart from that, I really loved mentorship reveal and getting to meet and bond with my mentor PJ over these last two semesters and look forward to making more memories this fall!
Linuka Hewagama
Technical Affairs & Public Relations
Major: Computer Science
Minor: Digital Arts and Sciences
Outside of FLEG: COP3503C Peer Mentor, FUELED, H-Camp SOFA, UF Study Abroad in Singapore, Silversea Media Intern
Favorite FLEG Memory: Spring Retreat was one of my favorite FLEG memories because spending an entire weekend camping together gave me the chance to connect with everyone and grow much closer to the group. I’m also especially grateful for my mentor, Jack, and for the mentorship program as a whole. Having someone I could count on during my first year of college meant a lot, and our weekly hangouts were always a great way to unwind after stressful weeks. Through FLEG, I’ve also met some of my closest friends and made memories I know I’ll carry with me for a long time.
Maybe the real FLEG was the friends we made along the way.
Molly Malone
Internal
Major: Mechanical Engineering
Outside of FLEG: Internal Vice President of SLAB, Florida Line dance club member
Favorite FLEG Memory: My favorite FLEG memory is spring retreat 2026! We got to go camping on campgrounds that had free range horses and donkeys which was awesome and getting to bond with my FLEG class and make smores was such an amazing experience 🙂
Kirsten Acuna
Internal
Major: Accounting (prev. Chem Engineering)
Outside of FLEG: Certified Fitness Instructor, Part-time Barista at Patticakes in the Village
Favorite FLEG Memory: My favorite FLEG memory is going camping for Spring Retreat. It was great way to bond with not only FLEG members, but my directors as well. From the drive down to breakfast at IHOP, I made memories I still treasure today. We got to pet farm animals and build tents with little to no experience. A chaotic (but controlled) time.

Alina Sullivan
Involvement
Major: Mechanical Engineering
Outside of FLEG: UF Study Abroad in Czech Republic
Favorite FLEG Memory: My favorite FLEG memory is probably mentorship reveal! The anticipation leading up to it was so fun, and everyone was so excited to finally find out who their mentor was. That
event really made FLEG feel like a family for me.
Jackson Burkett
Involvement
Major: Chemical Engineering
Outside of FLEG: PhiDE (Pre-Medical Fraternity), UF Weightlifting Club
Favorite FLEG Memory: My favorite FLEG memory is whipping up scones and ramen with my two dads and twin. I have had an absolute blast with mentorship as it has brought me some of my close
st friends in college. That night has sold me on how much of a family FLEG is and will always hold a special place for me.
Alyssa Bauer
Outreach
Major: Materials Science and Engineering
Outside of FLEG: Solar Gators (Structures Team), Research Intern at Georgia Tech (SENIC Undergraduate Internship in Nanotechnology program)
Favorite FLEG Memory: My favorite FLEG memories include mentorship challenges and connecting with my mentor in general. For instance, playing pickleball, pool, or getting insomnia cookies, all gave me a chance to get to know my mentor and became some of my favorite memories from freshman year. So the switch from not really knowing anyone at UF to having a family in FLEG was my favorite memory. This can also be applied with all of FLEG as well, as it truly did build a supportive community.
Evan Mullins
Outreach
Major: Materials Science and Engineering
Outside of FLEG: Zoltek R&D Intern, Swamp Launch
Favorite FLEG Memory: I didn’t expect Spring Retreat to involve sitting under the stars around a bonfire and waking up to horses eating our breakfast, but this weekend helped me feel much more connected with my fellow FLEG and E-Board. I’ve met many amazing people with huge aspirations, and I enjoyed getting to know my them beyond their collegiate and professional goals.
Anamaris Montanez
Professional Affairs
Major: Chemical Engineering
Minor: Biomolecular Engineering
Outside of FLEG: SHPE (Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers), Florida Undergraduate Leaders in Environmental Design (FUELED), UF Engineers Without Borders (EWB), Catholic Gators, Hispanic Scholarship Fund Scholar, Intern at Arnet Pharmaceutical
Favorite FLEG Memory: My favorite FLEG memories include hanging out with my fellow FLEG ChemE’s studying for finals, our PA social (playing pool in the game room), and completing a design-a-thon with fellow FLEG.
Rohit Paranjape
Professional Affairs
Major: Aerospace Engineering
Outside of FLEG: Engineering Ambassadors, The Independent Florida Alligator, Model UN, and Swamp Launch
Favorite FLEG Memory: My favorite FLEG memory is spring retreat 2026, when we camped at a horse farm. Additionally, I loved being able to become such close friends with all of my mentorship family. I can’t imagine being at UF without them and every day I’m grateful for them.
Noah Bailey
FLEGacy
Major: Electrical Engineering
Outside of FLEG: Gator Philharmonic Orchestra, Cru at UF, and UF rock climbing club
Favorite FLEG Memory: Spring Retreat was my favorite FLEG memory. Spending the whole weekend camping with FLEG made me feel a lot closer with everyone. Around that time, I had a lot of personal growth, and I think that Spring Retreat and the conversations I had with friends were largely responsible.
Layla Kalandjian
FLEGacy
Major: Environmental Engineering
Outside of FLEG: FUELED, Todd-Browne Research Lab, UF Study Abroad in Taiwan
Favorite FLEG Memory: Our potlucks were definitely my favorite memories with FLEG, because it was a great excuse to hang out
with friends and be able to cook together! Lumpia and mango sticky rice were my favorite dishes we made, of course everyone loved them, but I feel like it represents the best experiences that FLEG gave me. I’ve been able to meet such cool people that have become some of my best friends and getting to share a huge meal together definitely tied all of those feelings together!
Hsuan Chang
Public Relations
Major: Industrial and Systems Engineering
Outside of FLEG: Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers, Chinese American Student Association, Pre-Law Honor Society
Favorite FLEG Memory: My favorite FLEG memory was Outreach Committee’s Jungle Friends Primate Sanctuary Day. I remember showing up to the animal sanctuary when it was pouring rain, feeding the monkeys Cheerios, and getting soaked in the back of the golf cart
with my friends. Regardless, it was an unforgettable day and knowing that we were making a positive impact to the Gainesville community made it even better.
